General Information


With the help of this plugin, you can access an extensive collection of CAD models that are available via the CADENAS platform. The plugin is easy to install with just a few clicks and enables a precise search and the direct import of specific components into your project.


Install Plugin 3Dfindit


After logging in to the OnShape website, you can click on the corresponding icon in the top ribbon to open the OnShape App Store.


Then enter the word “Cadenas” in the search field and press Enter. Now click on “3Dfindit.com


To add the plugin, click on “Subscribe”.


A new page will open where you should click on “Get for free” to start the installation.


The plugin will then be installed. Once the process has been completed, you will receive a message informing you that the installation process has been successfully completed. You can now use the plugin in all projects.


How to use Plugin 3Dfindit with OnShape


In a new project or when opening a component, you will find the 3Dfindit plugin in the sidebar on the right-hand side ( 1 ).


Important Note
The import of CAD models only works in the 'Assembly' tab ( 2 ).
 



Once you have logged in on 3Dfindit, you can search for the desired component using the input field and/or use the numerous filters to narrow down the results further ( 3 ). Once the selection has been made, the component can be sent to the CAD application using the transfer button ( 4 )



The notifications window opens in 3Dfindit. You will receive a message as soon as the transfer of the component has been completed. The component can now be seen in the Assembly tab and in the history.
