the 2D Sketch Search

To make a sketch of the component you are looking for, use the brush (B) to draw the outline on the template cube. You can choose from the three views 'Top', 'Side' and 'Front' by pressing on the corresponding face of the cube.

Once you have selected the brush, you can define the line width and then draw by holding down the left mouse button. Of course, all other tools can also be used to create the most accurate sketch of the object you are looking for.

Hinweis
Areas should be filled in so that the system recognizes them as such.

To increase the hit rate, it is advisable to fill in several / all pages of the sketch. However, it is not mandatory to provide further drawings and it is sufficient to sketch one of the three pages.

If you are satisfied with the sketch, you can either click on "Add" if you want to add further search parameters, or you can click on "Apply and search" to display the result.

If the result is not correct, it is possible to remove the individual, previously drawn sides of the sketch from the search by clicking on the X in the search line next to the area to be removed.

It is also possible to make further adjustments using the filter on the left-hand side. If you click on "2D sketch" again, you can edit the existing sketch in order to carry out a new, modified search run.

the Search with own Pictures

Important Note
Searching with your own image only makes sense if an image with high contrast is used. Images with objects in the background can lead to an inaccurate result.

If you want to use your own image, you can click on the "Upload image" button in the 2D sketch.

A window opens to upload the previously saved image to 3Dfindit. The file must be selected and then click on "Open".

A preview window opens in which the uploaded image is displayed as a black and white version. You can now adjust the contrast and invert the colors if required. Once you have made your selection, you can click on "Apply filter".

Note
The dark area serves the system as the shape it is looking for - so if you rotate the colors of an image, the area of the image you are looking for changes.

The image is then shown as a moving display on the front page, where it can still be scaled, rotated and moved. It is not possible to transfer it to one of the other two pages. However, after adding the front view, you can also upload images to the other two views. It is possible to add several images to the same area.

Once you have added all the desired views, you can click on "Apply and search".

If the result is not correct, it is possible to remove the individual pages of the sketch, which were previously highlighted with images, from the search by pressing the X in the search line next to the area to be removed.

It is also possible to make further adjustments using the filter on the left-hand side. If you click on "2D sketch" again, you can edit the existing sketch in order to carry out a new, modified search run.
