Color Search

General Information

As the sole criterion for limiting the results, the color search is not particularly effective, as some colors (for example black or grey) are often used and therefore the search returns a large number of results. In order for the color search to be effective, all table rows should be indexed. This is usually the case with in-house parts catalogs, but only a certain percentage of purchased parts catalogs are indexed by default during installation. This can be administratively re-indexed at any time via PARTadmin > Index Administration > Right Click on 'My Parts' > Geometrical Indexes > Create/update all > Percentage Fraction.

The Color Search

If you click on the color search, you can do two things: select a predefined color or define your own color. A predefined color can be selected with a simple click. You can see from the green arrow on the color box that the color has been selected.

On the other hand, if you click on the plus button under the "Custom color" heading, a small window opens. There you can drag and drop the dot to the desired color shade. Alternatively, a hexadecimal number can be used or the RGB color space can be specified.

Once the desired color has been selected, you can either click on "Apply" to apply further search filters or click directly on "Apply and search" to start an immediate search process.

Note

The preview images in the results display do not always have the desired color. If you open the 3D preview via the context menu with the three dots or the drop-down arrow, the product is displayed in the desired color.
